Community Members 80 and Older Honored at Birthday Event

WILLIAMS, CA (MPG) — The Sacramento Valley Museum will host its annual birthday celebration for community members 80 years and older on Saturday, Sept. 20, in the Alumni Room at the museum, 1491 E St. in Williams.

The event begins at 11 a.m., with lunch and desserts served at noon. The party will feature salads from Rocco’s Bar & Grill along with birthday cake and ice cream. Guests are welcome to bring a chaperone.

“This is our third time hosting the event,” said Cindy Gobel, a museum board member. “Attendance is generally around a dozen people.”

Gobel said the party provides a chance for older residents to socialize.

“It’s a great chance for octogenarians to mix and mingle,” she said. “They can meet new friends and reminisce about the good times with others.”

The event will take place on the ground floor of the museum, which Gobel said makes it accessible for all.

“There will be no stairs to climb,” she said.

Museum curator Elijah Rodriguez said guests are also welcome to browse the museum during the celebration.

The birthday party is free to attend, though donations will be accepted.

RSVPs can be made by calling (530) 473-2978.
