Outdoor Expo Returns to Arbuckle

ARBUCKLE, CA (MPG) – Arbuckle’s LaVanch Hursh Park will once again host the Outdoor Expo on Saturday, July 26, from 8 AM to 1 PM. Now in its second year, the event, sponsored by High Noon Guns & Ammo, invites hunters, anglers, and outdoor enthusiasts for a morning of community, learning, and local shopping.

Diana Lytal, event organizer, explains the inspiration behind the expo. “We do a lot of events in town for families, but nothing has been done for the outdoorsman. I thought this would be a great opportunity to bring something new. We have a huge population of waterfowl and deer hunters and want to bring an opportunity for them.”

Attendees can visit booths hosted by Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, the California Deer Association, the Arbuckle Revitalization Committee, and the Colusa County Gun Owners Association.

“These experts will be on hand to answer questions and provide advice,” said Lytal. “We are trying to bring things to our community that you don’t usually see.”

Local vendors will showcase outdoor services and products, with Troy’s Custom Horn Mounts, First Hunt Foundation, and Sutter Buttes Holster Co. among the featured names. Organizations or individuals interested in having a booth can contact Diana at (530) 458-8315. Vendor spaces and event admission are both free.

Food options include Compa’s Catering and Tacos El Amigo. Lytal encourages everyone to “shop local” and support downtown Arbuckle businesses during the event.

Education and safety are central themes this year. The Colusa County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue team will demonstrate life saving techniques for those who may become lost while hunting, camping, or fishing. Lytal also hopes to add a veterinarian to provide first-aid advice for pets who might be injured during outdoor activities.

Raffle prizes from participating vendors add an extra incentive to attend.

Across from the park, High Noon Guns & Ammo will be open, offering discounts on firearms and ammunition, along with unique gifts and locally made items. “We are not your father’s gun store,” Lytal said, noting the wide selection available.

“We are doing this as a service to our community, and to help our local organizations get the word out,” Lytal emphasized. “This year is bigger, and I hope everyone comes out and experiences Arbuckle’s growing outdoor tradition.”
