WILLIAMS, CA (MPG) – Adding a little variety to the summer grind, football teams from Williams, Pierce, Los Molinos and Willows convened last Wednesday night a 7 v. 7 competition hosted by the Yellowjackets.

Seven on seven activities are something Williams’ head coach Forrest Bateman feels is an important part of summer preparation as he explained.

“I appreciate the competitive aspect of it and it lets the kids get live reps against someone else,” said the third-year head coach.

With regard to the overall status of the ‘Jackets’ summer workouts Bateman is pleased with the results stating that, “We’ve had good numbers and good competition and are progressing very well in my opinion. I am very happy with our guys so far this summer.”
Meanwhile, for Pierce, last week was the first time this summer they met on the field due to the fact that head coach Anthony Tapia and his staff were away coaching the South squad at the Lions All-Star Game.
Tapia said he was excited to see his team participate in the 7 v. 7 and also reported that the Bears were loading up and making their way to the Humboldt Camp in McKinleyville.
