Colusa, CA (MPG) – The 8th bi-annual Swing for Scholarships Golf Tournament, hosted by the Colusa County Alpha Kappa Chapter of Omega Nu, took place on Friday, April 25, at the Arbuckle Golf Club, drawing strong community support and raising over $28,000 for local scholarships.

The team from Alsco-Geyer took first place in the tournament. The winning foursome included Bob Martinez, Jake Geyer, Ben Geyer, and Austin Bedart.
Founded in 1939, the Colusa County chapter of Omega Nu has a long-standing tradition of supporting education and charitable causes throughout the county. The success of this year’s tournament was made possible by generous contributions from community members, businesses, specialty sponsors, and hole sponsors. Thanks to this support, 26 high school students from across Colusa County have been awarded scholarships to assist in their continued education.
The 2025 Omega Nu Scholarship recipients are Evelyn Stever, Addison Lay, Belsi Felix, Jonathan Velazquez, Carlie Sanchez, Alena Sanchez, Ariana Avera, Savanna Rochette, Ava Garcia, Brody Jones, John Paul Ramirez, Martha Najelli Garcia Gomez, Emily Calderon, Karla Ruiz, Danica Hagle, Sophia Robles, Ahmad Karim, Marisol Hernandez, Priscilla Preciado, Oswaldo Ramirez, Audrey Washburn, Natalie Haro, Mackenzie Wills, Cynthia Morfín-Reynaga, Florecita Gonzalez, Natalie Navarro.

“Our mission has always been to uplift and invest in the youth of Colusa County,” said Madison Jenkins from Omega Nu. “Events like this are a testament to what we can accomplish when the community comes together for a shared cause.”
Omega Nu continues to be a driving force in local philanthropy, ensuring that future generations have the opportunity to pursue higher education and realize their potential.
