REDDING, CA (MPG) – Playing in Redding last Friday against No. 3 seeded University Prep, the No. 6 RedHawks saw their season come to an end after suffering a 0-3 loss in the first round of the Northern Section Division IV playoffs.
In what has been an up and down year for Colusa, the team overcame an 0-15 start to win seven of its last nine and earn a spot in the postseason.
However, despite an admirable effort, the RedHawks could not scratch out any runs against Panther pitcher Jacob Lindell, who allowed just four hits in a complete game win, although it was the most competitive game in the Division IV bracket.
Seniors Jace MacKaben and Ashton Gutierrez in their final game for Colusa each picked up a hit, while juniors Rowdy Moore and Mason Gutierrez accounted for the other two.
On the mound, Lucas Price and Adan Travis closed out their careers for the RedHawks combining for five strikeouts while yielding just six hits and two earned runs.
Colusa ended the season with an overall record of 7-18.
