RedHawk Baseball Falls Short

Colusa’s Adan Travis had two hits in the RedHawks’ loss to Vacaville Christian on Apr. 25.

VACAVILLE, CA (MPG) – Despite getting on the board first in their non-conference game on Apr. 25 against Vacaville Christian, the RedHawks saw their seventh inning rally fall short as they suffered a 2-4 defeat on the road.

Although Carlos Franco drew a bases loaded walk to get Colusa on top in the first inning, the Falcons scored the game’s next four runs to put the RedHawks in a three-run deficit heading into the final frame.

Things initially looked promising as Colusa loaded the bases with just one away, but after Mason Guiterrez grounded out to second to plate Jace MacKaben, who had reached on a fielder’s choice, it could not come up with another timely hit.

Kane Nall, who is batting .422 with a 1.105 OPS, had a nice day going 3 for 4, while Adan Travis picked up a pair of hits.

The RedHawks’ Kane Nall went 3 for 4 in Colusa’s loss to Vacaville Christian on Apr. 25 and is hitting .422 with an OPS of 1.105 this season.

Seeing its four-game win streak come to an end, Colusa (4-16, 4-4) turned its attention back to Sacramento Valley League competition this week when it hosted East Nicolaus on Apr. 29 before making its way to Trowbridge to play the Spartans on May 2.
