Baseball:

Colusa 1 – Durham 11 (3/25)

Colusa 3 – Durham 9 (3/28)

Colusa’s Rowdy Moore had a double and RBI in two games against Durham last week.

Woes continued for the RedHawks as they dropped the season series to Durham to open Sacramento Valley League play.

 

At home last Tuesday, Colusa’s only two hits were doubles by Ashton Gutierrez and Rowdy Moore.

 

Following up on the road, the RedHawks were plagued by six errors and again managed just a pair of hits, this time a double by Carlos Franco and a single by Lucas Price, while Moore knocked in a run.

 

Colusa (0-13, 0-2), who was scheduled to host Winters on Tuesday before hitting the road to play the Warriors today at 4:00 pm.

 

Pierce 0 – East Nicolaus 11 (3/25)

Pierce 2 – East Nicolaus 6 (3/28)

The Bears fell twice last week to the Spartans in the Sacramento Valley League opening series for both teams.

 

James Jordan accounted for Pierce’s only hit in the shutout loss, while no statistics about last Friday’s game were provided.

 

This week, the Bears (2-9, 0-2) were in Paradise on Tuesday before returning home to face the Bobcats on Thursday.

 

Softball:

Princeton 24 – Williams 4 (3/28)

Princeton’s Mackenzie Wills was part of the hit parade that saw the Eagles sweep a doubleheader from Williams on Mar.

Princeton closed out the preseason with a bang by downing Williams in both games of a doubleheader played last Friday.

 

In the first game Sissy Winn and Jenna Silva combined for the win in the circle striking out five and four respectively.

 

At the plate, Jada Dillard had a huge day going 5 for 5 with an inside-the-park grand slam and a triple, while Reyna Sullivan went 4 for 4 with a pair of doubles and Guadalupe Espinoza was 3 for 3 with a home run.

 

It was more of the same for the Eagles in the nightcap, with Winn and Silva combining for seven strikeouts in the victory.

 

Silva helped her cause with an inside-the park-grand slam and a double, with Dillard staying hot adding another inside-the-park homer and a double.

 

Mackenzie Willis was 3 for 5 at the plate, including Princeton’s third trip around the bases of the game.

 

Williams did not provide statistics.

 

Princeton (5-3-1) was next scheduled to play Hayfork on Apr. 7 in an Evergreen League game, while Williams (0-7) was on the road Tuesday for a Mid-Valley matchup in Biggs on Apr. 1 before ending the week at Lindhurst on Apr. 3.

 

Pierce 0 – East Nicolaus 10 (3/25)

Pierce’s Jocelyn Ramos went 3 for 4 with two RBI in the Bears’ win over Esparto on Mar. 26.

Despite being shutout twice in Sacramento Valley League games by East Nicolaus, the Northern Section’s No. 1 ranked team, the Bears did pickup a non-conference win over Esparto.

 

Playing Esparto at home, Danica Wilkerson went a perfect 4 for 4 at the plate with four RBI and four runs scored.

 

Four others finished 3 for 4 with multiple RBI, including Rylie Delepierre who was a home run short of the cycle, Maicey Hoebel, Jocelyn Ramos and Danica Hagle.

 

Delepierre and Hagle combined for the win in the circle.

 

Looking for its first SVL victory, Pierce (4-6, 0-2) was scheduled to travel to Paradise on Apr. 1, then returned home to conclude the season series with the Bobcats on Apr. 3.
