Boys:

Colusa 57 – Willows 45 (2/11)

Colusa 32 – Winters 43  (2/14)

Last week was another up and down one for Colusa, who after cruising past Willows at home struggled to score on the road in Winters.

Colusa’s Sade Smith scored 16 points and brought down nine rebounds in the RedHawks win over Willows on Feb. 11

Against the Honkers Cade Smith had 16 points and nine rebounds to led the RedHawks, while Lucas Price tossed in 10 points and Ernie Mitchum finished with eight points and seven rebounds.

 

In the regular season finale, Kaleb Castanon ended the evening with a team-high eight points and Jace MacKaben corralled 13 rebounds.

 

Colusa (10-16) begins the Northern Section CIF Division IV playoffs as the No. 9 seed and traveled to Anderson on Feb. 19 to take on the No. 8 Cubs, with the winner facing No. 1 Gridley in the quarterfinals on Feb. 21.

 

Pierce 35 – Durham 49 (2/11)

Pierce 58 – East Nicolaus 47 (2/14)

After coming up short in Durham, the Bears came back strong at home against East Nicolaus, avenging a loss they suffered back on Jan. 24.

 

Gavin Guynn had a team-high 14 points in the loss to the Trojans, while Calvin Bair finished with a 12-point, 13 rebound double-double,

 

No statistics from the game against East Nicolaus were available.

 

As the No. 11 seed in the NSCIF Division IV playoff bracket, the Bears made the trip to Yreka on Feb. 19 to play No. 6 Yreka, with the winner squaring off against either No. 3 Orland or No. 14 Central Valley in a second round game tonight.

Williams 34 – Biggs 57 (2/14)

Having dropped three straight Mid-Valley League game last week, the Yellowjackets (7-16) saw their season come to an end.

Girls:

Pierce 39 – Durham 34 (2/11)

Pierce 45 – East Nicolaus 46 (2/13)

Pierce’s Rylie Delepierre led Pierce to a 39-34 win over Durham on Feb. 11.

The Bears started last week at home by holding off Durham to emerge with the victory, but were subsequently upset by the Spartans in Trowbridge after being outscored 23-18 in the second half.

 

Rylie Delepierre led Pierce with 10 points in the win, Magali Jauregui pitched in with nine points, while Leah Charter and Nina Rodriguez pulled down nine and seven rebounds respectively.

 

No statistics from the loss to East Nicolaus were made available.

 

Pierce (17-9) the No. 5 seed in the NSCIF Division IV playoffs hosted No. 12 Live Oak on Feb. 18, with the winner moving on to play either No. 4 West Valley or No. 13 Willows on Feb. 20.

Its been a rough go of it for a young Panther squad that has competed against bigger schools for the majority of the year, however despite dropping its last two Mid-Valley League contests, the season will continue into the NSCIF Division VI playoffs.

 

Seeded No. 11, Maxwell made the trip to play No. 6 Loyalton on Feb. 19, with the winner going on to meet No. 3 Fall River on Feb. 21.
