Two-Win Week for Princeton Boys

PRINCETON, CA  (MPG) – While it’s been a season of adjustment for the Princeton varsity boy’s basketball team, the Eagles picked up two Pioneer League wins last week after downing Herlong and Westwood respectively.

 

Starting out last Monday evening at home against Herlong, the Eagles dominated play from the opening tipoff to the final horn as they recorded the 72-40 victory.

 

Leading the way with another monster performance was Chris Roberson, who finished with a double-double that included 30 points 18 rebounds.

 

Nate Ramirez had another nice outing, pumping in 22 points, while Princeton also got a lift from the return of Brock Heater, who added seven points to the total and Chris Rendon, who dished out seven assists.

Welcoming Westwood (Chico) to town on Jan. 17, the Eagles held off the visitors to earn the 64-52 win.

 

Ramirez poured in 25 points, with Roberson recording his eleventh double-double in 16 contests after grabbing 16 rebounds and tossing in 16 points.

Rendon also made a noteworthy contribution with 11 points and six boards.

 

This week was a busy one for Princeton (9-7, 3-3) who was in Orland to take on Providence on Jan. 21, hosted Chester in a non-conference game on Jan. 22 and then closed out the week in Herlong on Jan. 24.
