COTTONWOOD, CA (MPG) – Records fell for two RedHawk runners last Thursday at the Northern Section Cross Country Finals held at West Valley High School.

Junior Rajdeep Shoker, the Sacramento Valley League champion, claimed the twentieth spot in the field of 120 varsity girls, racing to a personal best time of 21:15.10 on the three mile course and as a result punched her ticket to the CIF State Championships.
Meanwhile, in the varsity boys division, senior Benji Granados, ran a blistering time of 16:57.10 to set both a school and personal record, finishing nineteenth among the 191 contenders in the race.

Unfortunately for Granados, the SVL champion, he finished just short of qualifying for the state competition, which includes only the top five runners with the fastest times in their respective divisions.
The 2024 State Championship meet will be held on Nov. 30 at Woodward Park in Fresno.
