Colusa Cross Country Runs Past Competition

STONY GORGE, CA  (MPG) – With three Sacramento Valley League cross county teams including Pierce, Williams and Winters not making the trip to the meet last Wednesday, the RedHawks dominated the varsity events.

 

Finishing first in the varsity boy’s race was Benji Granados, who extended his SVL win streak to four straight after completing the three mile course in a time of 17:54.

 

Following Granados were teammates Cesar Cruz (20.00) in second, Jose Ceron (21:09) in sixth, Marcos Deniz (21:24-PR) in seventh and Luis Flores (22:17) in tenth.

 

Colusa swept the top three spots in the varsity girl’s competition as Rajdeep Shoker (23:55) crossed the line first, Eloise Guerrero (24:27-PR) was second and Giselle Valdes (26:12-SR) was third.

 

Two other RedHawks also posted personal records including Shaheen Orr (26:17) in sixth and Cristal Bruno (28:14) in seventh.

 

In the JV boy’s race, Colusa’s Hunter Sheirback (14:34) ran his fastest time at the 2.2 mile distance to take first.

 

This week SVL runners convened in Williams for their fourth conference meet.
