WILLIAMS, CA (MPG) – In its final preseason tune ups, the Yellowjackets dropped a match in Willows 10-25, 22-25, 14-25 before returning home where they fell to county rival Pierce 24-26, 14-25, 12-25.

Against the Honkers last Monday, Williams struggled to get the offense going, registering just nine kills as a team led by Yurydia Rocha and Lupita Zuniga who had three apiece.
Libero Daisy Ruiz made a team-high 10 digs in the loss.
Facing the visiting Bears the following evening, the ‘Jackets came out strong in the first set jumping out to a 19-11 lead, but unfortunately would see it dissipate as Pierce came back to win it.
From that point, while Williams played some competitive points, it couldn’t match its initial intensity and continued to struggle putting the ball away.

A bright spot on the attack was Caitlyn Ruiz, who turned in her best effort of the early season with a team-high nine kills.
Ariana Paiz finished with a game-high 18 digs, while Ruiz and Estefany Carabeo had 13 apiece.
Mid-Valley League play began for the Yellowjackets (8-10) this week when they hosted Maxwell on Tuesday and Portola on Thursday.
