
COLUSA COUNTY, CA (MPG) – For the 47th time the curtain will close for a select group of high school football players who have be chosen to participate in the Lions All-Star Games, which will be held at Shasta College in Redding on Saturday, June 22.

An event that seeks to promote seniors within the Northern California Lions District 4-C1, it also provides a greater community service, which is raising funds for Camp McCumber, a camp for youngsters with diabetes and the District Health Foundation.

Broken down into North and South squads, there are now two games, one for the larger high schools that typically includes players from Division II and III and another for the smaller schools who play in Divisions IV-VI.
Among those representing the South squad in the annual summer classic that includes athletes from Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Plumas, Sierra, Sutter and Yuba counties, are nine recently graduated seniors from the local area.

Headlining the county contingent is Colusa’s standout two-way player, Isaiah Travis, who will play in the large school game.
Those participating in the small school game are Travis’s RedHawk teammates Bo Coronado, Aiden Selover and Landon Humphrey, Pierce’s Alfonso Orozco, Daniel Bustamante and Colton Vanlaningham, along with Maxwell’s Robert Waite and Princeton’s Alexander Taylor.

The small school game kicks off at 5:00 p.m., with the large school game following at 7:30 p.m.
