Antique Bottle Show – The annual Antique Bottle Show at the Sacramento Valley Museum will be held Oct. 6-7. Early Birds can get in to pursue the many bottles, collectibles, and antiques on Friday, Oct. 6, from 10 am to 4 pm for a special admission of $20. The museum is located at 1491 E. St., Williams. Stagehands Presents “Our Imaginary Friends”
The Stagehands will present “Our Imaginary Friends,” a play written and directed by Nicole Helms and Susan Gibbs, on Friday, Oct. 6. Doors Open at 6:30 pm; curtain up at 7:15 pm. Tickets are available at the door for $15 for adult; $10 for students/children. Stagehands Theatre is located on the Colusa County Fairgrounds; use 9th street entrance.

Arbuckle Pumpkin Festival – The annual Arbuckle Pumpkin Festival will be held from 10 am to 2 pm at LaVanche Hursh Park, 308 5th St, Arbuckle. Volunteer Adult Literacy Tutor Training – The Literacy Program at the Colusa Library will offer a Volunteer Adult Literacy Tutor Training on Friday, Oct. 13, 2023, 10am-noon. Volunteer Tutors work one-on-one with adult learners, one hour per week, to help them learn English, with a focus on reading and writing. No teaching experience is necessary. Maxwell Zombie Fun Run – Maxwell Park and Recreation District Auxiliary will host the 2023 Zombie Fun Run at the Maxwell Elementary School, 146 North St. on Saturday, Oct. 21. Come out and enjoy a pancake breakfast before the festivities. Choice of pancakes, pumpkin pancakes, sausage, fruit, coffee, milk, or orange juice. Breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 10:30 AM; $6 for ages 4 and up. Registration for the run starts at 8 am. Run, jog, or run a 1-mile or 5k through zombie infested, post-apocalyptic Maxwell at 9 am. Adults $15; Youth $10 for ages 7-17. Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards will be given in multiple categories and awards for fastest time and Best-Looking Zombie. Children 6 and under and strollers are welcome to participate at no cost with adult supervision. There is also a free vendor fair. Sacramento Valley Museum Comedy Show – Four short comedy stitches by local performers will highlight the Sacramento Valley Museum Comedy Show. Cocktails 5 pm; Tri-Tip Dinner 6 pm. Puptoberfest – Puptoberfest, a celebration of dogs, will be held Saturday, Oct. 28, 11 am-1 pm, at Veteran’s Memorial Park, 10th and Market Sts., Colusa. Sponsored by Colusa County Animal Control with support from the Colusa County Library and the Colusa Lions Club, this event is a fundraiser for the Friends of the Colusa County Animal Shelter (FOCCAS), which provides support for the shelter and its furry residents not otherwise provided by the county. This event for people and pets will include puppuccinos, lawn games, a book giveaway, kids crafts, a hotdog lunch, and the crowd favorite: a dog costume contest. Lifelong Readers Book Club – The Colusa County Free Library’s Lifelong Readers Book Club will discuss “The Paris Library’’ by Janet Skeslien Charles, Oct. 31, 5:30-6:30 pm at the Colusa branch, 738 Market St., Colusa. This novel is based on the true story of the heroic librarians at the American Library in Paris during World War II. Print and audio books can be checked out at the library.H
