Game warden recognized for service

The Colusa County Board of Supervisors adopted a proclamation on Dec. 20 in recognition of the service of California Department of Fish and Wildlife Officer Brett Gomes for his dedication to the citizens and natural resources of Colusa County.

Gomes joined the Department of Fish and Game as a warden in 1993. He transferred to Region 2 in 2000, where he remained until his retirement in 2021. Gomes covered diverse assignments and cases throughout his career. Gomes has been involved in programs for disabled veterans and children. He has served the County of Colusa and surrounding areas with his expertise in the field and enforced the Fish and Game code to protect citizens and many natural resources this county provides.

“The Colusa County Board of Supervisors extends their sincere appreciation to Brett Gomes, fish and wildlife officer for his dedication and service to the County for the past 21 years, and his more than 27 years of dedicated service and personal commitment to the State of California and its citizens,” the proclamation states.
