The 44th District Agriculture Association last week chose “Summer Tans and Cattle Brands” as the theme for the 2023 Colusa County Fair.
The Colusa County Fair will run June 9-12, 2023. The fair board, at their July meeting, had narrowed down five top choices, including “Summer Days and County Ways,” “The Little Fair That Could,” “Adventure Awaits,” “Carnival Lights and Country Nights,” and Kick Up Your Boots and Support Your Roots,” but none gained particular favor.
“We have had similar themes in the past,” said Director Laurie Costa.
Director Sue Gibbs offered a number of other suggestions to consider, including themes related to rock n’ roll and the theme the board ultimately selected.
Fair directors said themes are chosen in a manner that artwork and decorations can be easily developed.
The theme “Summer Tans and Cattle Brands” was approved unanimously by the board and was also a hit with the staff.
“Why not have some fun with it,” suggested CEO Laura Ford. ■
