The Senior Luncheon is back at the Colusa County Fair this year in a new location.
The luncheon is free to all senior citizens 65 and over.
“This event is a great way for seniors to come out to have lunch and the exhibit halls will be open just for them to walk through and view all of the entries,” said Patty Hickel, longtime organizer.
Once again, the Colusa Lions Club will be barbecuing. The Colusa Rotary and Colusa Fair Foundation covered the cost of the food.
Lunch will be prepared and served by volunteers, Hickel said.
The annual luncheon was started as a fair activity back in the early 1980s by the Colusa Parks and Recreation Department. It has been held every year except 2020 and 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
While the event has been held outdoors since its inception, the senior luncheon returns to the 2022 Colusa County Fair inside Festival Hall, where air conditioning is available and restrooms are easily accessible.
The Senior Luncheon will be held at Noon on Friday, June 10, Colusa County Fairgrounds, 1303 10th St., Colusa. ■
