The Colusa City Council last week made several appointments to open seats on the Planning Commission, the Park, Recreation & Tree Commission, and the Heritage Preservation Commission.
The appointees are all residents of Colusa County, residing within two miles of the Colusa city limits, as required by city ordinance.
The City Council, on March 1, reappointed Planning Commissioner Dick Armocido to serve another four-year term. He will be joined on the Planning Commission by newcomers John Martin and Glenn “Ed” Duncan, who replace Brendan Farrell and Ken Flagor, who resigned in February.
Duncan has a bachelor’s degree from California State University in Sacramento in real estate and land use. Martin owns and operates a custom farming business and is foreman at his family’s crop dusting business.
The City Council also filled one of two long-vacant seats on the Heritage Preservation Commission with the appointment of Stacey Zwald Costello on March 1.
Costello, Colusa County library director, is a multi-generational member of the community. She has a master’s degree in American history and informational science, and has worked in museums, archives, and libraries for 20 years.
The City Council appointed Madison Martin to the Park, Recreation & Tree Commission.
Martin has an associates degree in agriculture business and will have her bachelor’s degree from California State University in Chico this year. ■
