The Arbuckle Farmers Market is hosted by the Arbuckle Revitalization Committee and has become a summer staple for the community of Arbuckle ā€œ providing a valuable promotional venue for small farms and small businesses.

The Arbuckle Farmers Market will boast a variety of produce, fruits, vegetables, fresh farm eggs, olive oil, crafts, and garden advice throughout the summer.

The Arbuckle Farmers Market is held weekly on Wednesdays from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at LaVanche Hursh Park in Arbuckle. If you are interested in becoming a vendor, contact Mary Fahey at (530) 383-4625.

The Colusa Farmers Market began its bountiful season on June 11, 2015 with many vendors returning and a new market manager.

Jennifer Diaz has selected the challenge as the manager for the Colusa Farmers Market. Diaz is a volunteer.

” I want the Colusa Farmers Market to be a place where business promote themselves,” said Diaz.

Diaz is currently obtaining certification status for the Colusa Farmers Market.

The certified farmers market concept is an effort to re-establish the traditional link between farmers and consumers in California. Put simply, certified farmers markets (CFMs) are ” the real thingĀ, places where genuine farmers sell their crops directly to the public.

Diaz believes that a Certified Farmers Market will beneficial for the Colusa Market and will help assist vendors with their certifications.

” I will even assist those who are interested in obtaining their cottage food license,” said Diaz.

The Cottage Food Operations permit is a new permit process effective January 1, 2013, allowing individuals to prepare and/or package certain non-potentially hazardous foods in private-home kitchens.

Diaz will be busy recruiting new vendors and planning a busy farmers market season in Colusa, and she invites everyone to come out and have a look.

” Come out and support your local farmers and businesses,” said Diaz.

The Colusa Farmers Market is held weekly on Thursdays from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Veterans Memorial Park in Colusa. If you are interested in becoming a vendor, contact Jennifer Diaz at (415) 994-9082.
