On Thursday, June 11, 2015 at approximately 4:35 AM, 51-year-old Evert Martinez of Colusa, was traveling southbound on Lone Star Road at the stated speed of approximately 55 MPH.
As Martinez approached the intersection at Abel Road, she observed an SUV traveling westbound on Abel road, at an unknown rate of speed.
The vehicle traveled through the stop sign and slid directly in front of Martinez.
Unable to avoid a collision, Martinezs vehicle collided with the right front of the SUV.
The driver of the SUV was identified as Jason Tober.
Tobers vehicle sustained minor damage and was driven away from the scene of the collision.
Martinez and passenger, 61-year-old, Maria Garcia of Colusa, were transported to Enloe Medical Center by air ambulance. Martinezs additional passengers, 32-year-old Selene Flores, and 45-year-old Juana Duran, both of Colusa, were transported to Colusa Regional Medical Center.
The collision is under investigation with the Williams Area CHP.
