Williams Resident Places in Chico Bodybuilding Competition

05202015 - Chris_OSullivan (1)For longtime Williams resident Chris OSullivan, healthy living and fitness is not only important to himself, but to his family.

” I have instilled in my kids that staying healthy and fit is important,” said OSullivan, ” I wanted to show them that that you could achieve anything you put your mind to, and to be a positive example.Ā

On May 9, 2015, OSullivan competed in the Chico Bodybuilding Show at Win River Casino and placed 2nd in the Masters Division and third in the 187lb Open Division.

” It was a really cool deal,” said OSullivan, ” I didnt think I was going to place as high I did, most especially a guy my age.Ā

The 42-year-old OSullivan began training in January but took a different approach to training.

” My trainer, Les Morris at Knockout Fitness in Woodland, helped me build a training regime around my schedule,” said OSullivan.

Between farming, managing a family and coaching his daughters little league team couldnt take on the traditional training schedule and diet.

” I needed something that allowed me to do still what I love and get the results that I needed,” said OSullivan, ” Les did an outstanding job.Ā

A former Colusa Rugby Player, fitness has been a part of OSullivans life for quite some time.

” I have done triathlons, and half marathons,” said OSullivan, ” but this was my first bodybuilding experience.Ā

For OSullivan, he was impressed on how family oriented the events were.

” I thought it was going to be totally different my first time out, but they were really concerned about the family members watching the competition,” said OSullivan, ” there were some very nice folks.Ā

OSullivan plans to complete in the Tahoe Bodybuilding Show in August.
