On Wednesday, December 3, 2014 the California Highway Patrol responded to the report of a hit-and-run collision on Interstate 5, just south of the Maxwell Road over crossing.
According to the report, a white semi-truck was traveling Interstate 5 northbound, at approximately 80-85 mph. The driver of the semi-truck began to make a lane change striking the right side of a 2007 Pontiac driven by Shannon Sherritt, 34 of Reading, California.
The driver of the semi-truck fled the scene of a traffic collision, northbound on Interstate 5.
Sherritt was subsequently transferred to Colusa Regional Medical Center for moderate injuries.
According to the CHP, Sherritts use of her seat prevented her from sustaining more serious injuries as a result of a traffic collision.
