Almond Fun Run to Benefit Ag Education

On Sunday, October 26, the Arbuckle Fun Run for Education Committee will host its second annual Arbuckle Almond Run, with registration starting at 7:00 A.M.

” Proceeds from the run will benefits something for agriculture education,” said Mary Grimmer, event coordinator, ” whether that be ag in the classroom, a field trip or something else.

The run will be a delightful course through scenic almond orchards on paved roads. The course is available in one-mile, 5K, and 10K distances. Awards will be given to the top individuals in their age divisions.

The cost is $15 if pre-registered before October 5, 2014. $20 after the deadline. A PJUSD student discount is available.

Halloween costumes are encouraged; and prizes to be given to the most outstanding adult, child and group costume.

” Our goal is to have more than one walk per year,” said Grimmer, ” it is planned to have one both in the spring and during the fall.
