Single Vehicle Collision on Closes Lonestar Road

A single vehicle collision caused a fire from a downed power line, shutting down Lone Star road for over an hour.

On Wednesday, September 3, 2014, the Williams Fire Department was dispatched to a single vehicle accident on Lone Star Road, just south of Abel Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, 25-year-old, Flora Salve of Colusa was traveling southbound on Lone Star Road when, for unknown reasons, she allowed her vehicle to leave the roadway, striking a power pole. Subsequently, Salves vehicle came to rest in a ditch.

Fire crews extinguished the blaze caused from a downed power line, and PG&E was on the scene to repair the line.

Salve was transported to Colusa Regional Medical Center for minor injuries.

The CHP said that the cause of the crash is still under investigation. –
