On Tuesday, August 5th, the City of Williams hosted a Public Safety Night to bring community members outdoors and to interact with local public safety agencies.
“This was an opportunity for the public to come out and see what our local public safety agencies have to offer,” said Williams Chief of Police, Jim Saso.
Several dozen community members made their way through he various equipment displays and information booths.
The California Highway Patrol handed out information for its StartSmart Classes, and Age Well Drive Smart Classes, and handed out stickers to Children.
The Williams Fire Department had information available for anyone interested in becoming a fire fighter, and a ladder climbing demonstration, along with tours of their equipment.
The Williams Police Department held a K9 Demonstration with Officer Kieth Swift and his K9 partner, Rowdy. Williams Volunteer Firefighter and Council-member Kent Bowes participated in the demonstration by volunteering to wear the dog bite suit.
The Williams Police Department, Explorer Program handed out information brochures to community members.
