Letter to the Editor: Yuletide Committee

Dear Editor,

The Yuletide Dinner committee would like to thank all the helping hands who made it possible to dish up over 135 meals on Christmas Day in Friendship Hall.  We served about 90 delivered meals and about 45 dine-in and take-out meals.

Volunteers who founded Yuletide in 1984 helped this year alongside helpers who were volunteering for the very first time.  Lloyd and the staff at the Pioneer Review supported us with great publicity for an entire month.  Students from the Environmental Science Academy at Colusa High School set tables and made green bean casseroles and cranberry sauce a day or two before Christmas.  Generous folks baked or donated pies and donated turkeys. Other generous folks cooked turkeys, all of which arrived by 9 am Christmas morning.  Carvers carved, potato peelers cooked and mashed potatoes, pie servers dished up pie, kitchen workers prepared dressing and gravy, servers served up dine-in plates and to-go plates, and able drivers delivered hot food throughout the county.  Other generous folks stayed late to wash dishes and clean up.  And still other generous souls donated financially.   The Hall was filled with the Christmas spirit and the joy of working together as a community.

Many thanks again, and best wishes for a bright New Year!

Sincerely,

The Yuletide Committee 2022

Janet Anderson, Denise Conrado, Marie Critchfield, and Elizabeth Yerxa
