Todd Douglas Kalfsbeek died on Oct. 12, 2025, with his family by his side. He was 74. Todd was born on Feb. 25, 1951 in Woodland, CA to Hiram and Bernie Kalfsbeek, the third of six children. He grew up in Arbuckle, attending John’s School and graduating from Pierce High School in 1969.
Todd’s first love was agriculture. Together with his brothers Joe and Knute, the trio formed “JTK Kalfsbeek” in the early 70s, a farming operation which spanned nearly five decades. He retired in 2021.
Todd inherited his love for cooking from his parents. His BBQ ribs and beans were a staple at family holidays such as Easter in the hills and Fourth of July and any other large gathering which always centered around food.
Todd loved hunting, fishing, and just being outdoors. Some of his best memories were adventures in Homer, Alaska, the Buckeye Hunting Club, the Border Tule and trips to the cabin near Viola.
Todd is survived by his wife of 33 years, Debbie; daughter Elizabeth (Bill) Charter, son Tim (Lauren) Kalfsbeek; grandchildren Eldon Charter, Kate and Rhett Kalfsbeek; brothers Joe (Mary K) and Knute Kalfsbeek, sister Addie (Willy) Maupin, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hiram and Bernie Kalfsbeek; brothers, Oscar and Guy Kalfsbeek; and sister-in-law Jeannie Scott Kalfsbeek.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM, on Friday, Nov. 7, 2025 at John’s School Road Cemetery, 374 Johns School Rd., Arbuckle, CA. A celebration of Todd’s life will follow at 583 College City Rd., Arbuckle.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Arbuckle Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 727, Arbuckle, CA 95912, or a charity of choice.
