Carolyn Sue Thompson Troughton • 6/23/1939 – 5/30/2024

Sue Thompson Troughton, was born on June 23, 1939, in Beggs, Oklahoma, to Lawrence and Hazel Thompson. She was a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Sue’s journey began in Bakersfield, California, where she spent her formative years alongside her two brothers, Calvin and Don, and her three sisters, Joann, Linda, and Brenda. Her family’s eventual relocation to Willows and then Williams marked the beginning of her adult life where she would soon start her own family.
Sue worked at A&W as a carhop in Williams and that’s where she met her husband of almost 64 years, John Troughton Jr. Together, they raised four children – Randy Troughton, Tim Troughton, Cyndy Perry (Dennis), and
Jeff Troughton – who were the center of Sue’s world. Sue and John resided in Colusa during their child-rearing years before later relocating back to Williams once their kids were grown. Years later, they briefly relocated back to Colusa before ultimately settling permanently in Williams. She was a devoted grandmother to Jodi Garza (David), Kassi Troughton, and Steven Perry (Savannah), and great- grandmother to Aiden Troughton, Cooper Mobley, Blake Garza, Oona Pearson, Hudson Garza, Brandt Perry, Brock Perry, and Bobbi-Sue Burley that’s due to arrive this fall. She was also a loving aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.
Her life revolved around her family, whom she loved deeply. She was always there with a listening ear and unconditional love, ready to offer support and comfort whenever it was needed. Her happiest moments were spent surrounded by her loved ones. Her family was her pride and joy. She will be deeply missed and her memory will forever be etched in our hearts.
Sue was preceded in death by her mother Hazel Thompson, her father Lawrence Thompson, her brother Don Thompson, her little sister Brenda Thompson, and her nephew Robert Ewton.
