Mickey Dean Settlemire went home to the Lord on October 21, 2023.
Mickey was an A to Z man, born in Atoka Oklahoma to Hillie Arthur Settlemire Jr. and Viva Lee Collins, the family moved to Ventura California after graduating from Camarillo High School Mickey enlisted in the United States Army and served honorably as a sharpshooter (Rifle and Carbine) 1959-1962. Mickey owned his own trucking business, M.Settlemire Trucking, soon after he went to work for the next 19 years for the State of California, as a motor carrier specialist and accident investigations for the California Highway Patrol, he
served as a Colusa Planning Commission chairman for many years, he farmed rice and was on the Glenn County Sheriff’s Posse.
He was ALWAYS ready tohelp anyone at a moment’s notice, he was loving, kind, easy going, funny and honest. A man of the utmost integrity and character.
Mickey will be remembered for the love and knowledge of cars, attending car shows and for tinkering in his shop. Mickey loved his dogs, Sasha who he has
been reunited with and Ruby who misses her friend.
Mickey was preceded in death by his parents Hillie and Viva Settlemire, and his
brother Dwight.
Mickey is survived by the love of his life, Kathleen
“Kate” Settlemire, his children: Mickey Settlemire Jr. Eureka CA, Michael Settlemire (Julie) Nashville TN , John Settlemire Clarksville TN. Laura Reddick
(Neil) North Carolina, Rhonda Goertzen, San Bernardino CA.- Grandchildren, Jacob Settlemire, Filmore CA, Casey Progar (Colin), Unionville TN, Cord Settlemire, Carmichael CA. Teal Settlemire, West Sacramento CA. Cody Settlemire, Rockvale Tn. Ashley Alvis (Tommy), Charlotte NC, Brynn Cason
(Jonathan), Charlotte NC and 7 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held in the Spring….
He will be missed forever by his family and many friends… until we
