Pins4Paws, a fundraising event benefiting the Friends of Colusa County Animal Shelter (FOCCAS), will be held on New Year’s Eve, Dec 31, with two different sessions at 5 PM and 7 PM.
Lynda Silk and John Maral, who own Riverside Lanes, have hosted the event for three years.
“Last year, it was held on New Year’s Eve with great success, so we’re doing it again,” said FOCCAS Vice President Pam DaGrossa. “The bowling alley has great food and a fun atmosphere for families. It’s a terrific way to send off the old year and ring in the new with a bunch of animal lovers.”
The cost is $30 per person, which covers two games of bowling, shoe rental, and dinner.
Members of the public can support the fundraiser by signing up and participating as individuals, pairs, or teams of four at Riverside Lanes. Games for bowlers include “next strike wins.”
If you don’t wish to bowl, you can still come down and support the event, which will have food, raffles, games, and prizes.
The raffle includes donations from local crafters and artisans, including jewelry, a diamond painting, and acrylic paintings by some of the shelter dogs. Information about the artists will be available.
“Additionally, we provide information on behalf of Animal Control and highlight their hard work to keep animals safe and find them homes when their owners fail them,” DaGrossa said. “Photos of current adoptable animals will be there, so perhaps it will spark interest to adopt.”
Riverside Lanes has been a strong supporter of the Colusa County Animal Shelter.
“I think both Lynda and I hope to raise whatever money possible to support the work of FOCCAS to improve the lives of shelter animals in Colusa County,” DaGrossa said.
