Trial set for man accused of sex crimes against children

Phillip Jeffords Andriotti

Colusa County Superior Court Judge Jeffrey A. Thompson set Oct. 31-Nov. 3 for the trial of a former Grimes resident charged with aggravated sexual assault of two children.

Phillip Jeffords Andriotti, 46, of Ocean Park, Wash., is accused of sexually abusing two girls inside his home for several years while living in Colusa County.

The children were ages 8 and 11 when the abuse began with the youngest child, nearly two decades ago, Colusa County Sheriff Officials said. Both victims are now adults.

According to testimony at Andriotti’s preliminary hearing in November, the youngest victim eventually told a close friend that Andriotti abused her approximately 100 times over several years through conditioning and normalizing the behavior, which included oral copulation and intercourse. The older victim told her husband, officials said.

Andriotti has been under investigation for sex crimes against children since 2021.
He was arrested on a warrant at his Washington home on Aug. 26, 2022, returned to California, and remains in custody in the Colusa County Jail on $1 million bail.

Andriotti has pleaded not guilty to one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child, three counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child, and a special allegation of being a previously convicted felon.

He faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted. â–
