The Colusa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a possible armed robbery of two people temporarily parked on the side of Old Highway 99, near Hahn Road, in Arbuckle, on Saturday.
According to Lt. Jose Ruiz, Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the area around 6:52 PM, after the alleged victims called 911 to report that after they pulled over to turn on a GPS device, an SUV crossover type vehicle pulled up and parked behind them, and two men approached them and asked if they needed help.
“The suspects then produced black colored handguns and pointed them at the victims, demanding their money,” Ruiz said in a news release. “After obtaining U.S. currency, the suspects ran back to their vehicle and drove away.”
According to Ruiz, the alleged victims described the two men as possibly Hispanic. One man was reportedly wearing a black surgical face mask with a black sweater with a hoodie. The other was described as wearing a black surgical face mask and a red sweater with a hoodie.
Ruiz said Colusa County detectives are still investigating the incident.
