A $50,000 bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of John Justis Goodman, 83, of Colusa, who failed to appear in court for his preliminary hearing on July 12. Goodman, a convicted child molester, is charged with failing to register as a sex offender upon his release from state prison. Goodman was convicted of lewd and lascivious acts with a minor in 2006. In 2018, Goodman was convicted of possessing obscene material that depicted minors engaging in sexual behavior, along with a special allegation of having a prior conviction. Colusa County Superior Court Judge Jeffrey A. Thompson issued the warrant when Goodman, who pleaded not guilty to the charge on June 21, again failed to appear in court as ordered on July 19.

Bench warrants totaling $135,000 and two ” no bail” warrants were issued July 19 for the arrest of Francisco Arturo Rodriguez, 42, of Colusa, for failure to appear in Colusa County Superior Court for the resetting of a probation violation hearing and entry of plea on charges alleging contempt of court. Rodriguez is facing charges of probation violation in connection to domestic violence battery and child endangerment convictions in 2019. Rodriguez was arrested by the Colusa Police Department on Oct. 26, 2020, on charges alleging inflicting corporal injury to his childs parent, domestic violence with great bodily injury, false imprisonment by violence, and two charges of willfully disobeying a court order.
