John Steven Pearson, age 73 of Williams, passed away July 27 in Woodland, Ca after a two year battle with lung cancer. John was born in Colusa November 6, 1942 to Orval L. Pearson and Martha E. Moore. He lived in Colusa county until 1959 when he joined the U. S. Army, where he served until 1963, in the Signal Corps as a lineman in Germany. After several years of working in the San Francisco area as a lineman for the telephone company, he moved to Oklahoma. In Oklahoma, John ran a sprinkler business, and me the love of his life, Betty Decker. In 2001, John moved home to Colusa county, where he remained until his death. John was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved Betty. He is survived by 5 sisters; Paula Tregaskis of Utah, Donna Slover of Grass Valley, Lucille Schoonover of Anderson, Susan Hoffman of Sacramento, and Theresa Bright of Williams, as well as several nieces & nephews. John will be inurned at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, Thursday August 11, at !0:00. The family will have dinner at Louis Cairos in Williams August 13 at 6:00 pm with a public toast to follow at 7:00 pm.
