” I never liked attention,” said Hester, ” but once I learned to open up, I have had the great opportunity to meet some great people.

Hester recently graduated from Colusa High School and planned on attending Shasta College where when will then transfer to another college and obtain a degree in clinical psychology or nutrition.

” I am going to miss dressing up, getting my hair and makeup done, and all the beautiful dresses,” said Hester, ” however, I am glad that someone else will now get a chance to experience what I have.

Hesters advice to the incoming Miss Colusa County is to be humble.

” It is a great honor to wear the crown and sash,” said Hester, ” but it comes with responsibility as you are representing our country, and you have to act appropriately.
