Pop-Up Playgroup & Storytime, 10 to 11 a.m. at the City of Colusa Auditorium, 425 Webster St., Colusa. First 5 Colusa will offer a free playgroup for families with children ages 0 to 5 featuring stories, crafts, activities and family time. A storytime and free book giveaway will be offered at the second playgroup each month. Grandparents Day, 10 a.m. at the Donna Critchfield Demonstration Garden, 499 Margurite St., Williams. UC Master Gardeners of Colusa County will host grandparents and grandchildren for garden activities, including cutting fresh flower bouquets, picking peppers, touring landscape areas, taking home books and an educational iris exchange.
Monday, Sept. 14
Little Steps, Big Connections, 9 to 10 a.m. at C.D. Semple Park in Colusa. First 5 Colusa, the Colusa Recreation Department and Colusa County C.O.P.C. Family Resource Center will begin a biweekly walking group for parents and caregivers of children ages 0 to 5. Old Colusa High School Meeting, 4 p.m., Colusa Unified School District Office auditorium, 400 Fremont St., Colusa. Community members will meet with a district subcommittee to discuss options and plans for the former Colusa High School property.

Conversation with Council, 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Rocco’s Bar and Grill. Williams Mayor Denise Conrado and Councilmember Ryan Codorniz will hold an open discussion about city issues. Attendees may bring questions, comments and concerns. Appetizers will be available with a no-host bar.

Grimes Community Cleanup, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Grimes Branch Library parking lot, 240 Main St., Grimes. Colusa County and Recology will accept household, electronic and green waste at the free cleanup event. Supervisor Daurice Kalfsbeek-Smith will be available to answer questions about county programs and services. Free children’s books will be available while supplies last. Hazardous chemicals and certain construction materials will not be accepted.
WCCA FreeCycle, 8:30 a.m.-noon, Williams Community Center Association, 860 C St., Williams. Community members may bring unwanted items to give away and take other items home at no cost.
