Getting Old is Hard

I’m a little weary from the struggles that come with the process of aging.

It’s not only a physical challenge but a mental one as well.

Sometimes I make mistakes, say or do the wrong thing.

Since dislocating my ankle a couple of years ago, I’ve struggled with pain and balance, not to mention increased weakness.

I hope the people in my life will understand I’m not doing stupid stuff on purpose. I’m just as frustrated as anyone.

I love my family unconditionally, but I know I make mistakes there as well.

I’m feeling a little melancholy today. I’m with one of my dearest friends. She is dealing with major health issues. I watch her meet each challenge with renewed positivity that puts my whiny self to shame. I’m not sure I’d be as strong as she is being.

In a few short weeks, Tom and I will take a road trip to our California vacation place. I love being there. It gives me time to rejuvenate and relax. Maybe because it’s in my home county, I feel less stressed.

Anxiety has been an issue for the women in my family. Usually I control it, but there are sometimes I allow myself to stress over things out of my control.

Tomorrow is not promised to any of us.

Meanwhile, I try to be good to those around me. It’s better to be nice than it is to constantly stir the pot just to get the reaction you are seeking.

It’s best to be kind.

Be kind even when you don’t want to be and life will continue to be good today.
