COLUSA, CA (MPG) – It was a beautiful day for golf last Wednesday afternoon as 55 prep golfers from nine different high schools hit the links at the Colusa Golf and Country Club for the third annual Brady Myers Invitational Tournament.

Held in honor of Myers, a former All-American golfer and longtime member of the Golf Club, who passed away in 2023, the event showcased not only the talent in the North State, but also the passion for golf that he retained throughout his life.
It was something that Myers’ daughter, Mattie Steinhoff, was pleased to see saying, “It was really special to see so many teams come out for the annual invitational in honor of my dad. It was a pretty warm day, but the kids handled it well and kept pushing through, which made it even more impressive to watch. There is some incredible talent out there and it’s exciting to see the future of the game is in good hands. I know my dad would have been happy and proud to see these young athletes out there competing, persevering and enjoying the game he loved so much.”
In the end, Shasta won the team event with a combined score of 232, Marysville (244) captured second and Nevada Union (262) was third.
As for the local teams, Colusa (272) came in fourth, while Maxwell (283) was sixth.
