Arbuckle FFA Members Earn State Degrees

ARBUCKLE, CA (MPG) – Arbuckle FFA will see a large group of students recognized this spring as members earn the California FFA State Degree, one of the organization’s highest honors for agricultural education and leadership.

Twenty-nine students from the Pierce High School agriculture program qualified for the award and will be honored April 27 during the State Degree ceremony in Chico.

Pierce High School officials said 14 juniors and 15 seniors from the Arbuckle FFA chapter qualified for the award during the 2025-26 school year. The California FFA State Degree is the second-highest honor a student can earn while participating in FFA.

To qualify, students must meet several requirements that demonstrate commitment to agricultural education and leadership. Members must be active in FFA for at least two years, complete at least 25 hours of community service and participate in five activities beyond the chapter level. Students also must complete at least 360 hours of agricultural instruction, invest at least 500 hours in their Supervised Agricultural Experience projects and earn at least $1,000 through those efforts.

Students receiving the degree include juniors Yoxan Almendares, Austin Cline, Alisha Cotter, Colin Dye, Chase Friel, Devin Garcia, Joel Haro, Connor Harris, Austin Jorge, Weston LaGrande, Kendall Mulqueeny, Victoria Quiroz, Whitney Traynham, and Lyla Williams.

Senior recipients include Jaelene Cadenas, Valentin Cano, Alejandra Garcia, Marely Garcia, Jazlyne Guzman, Lesly Herrera, Magali Jauergui, Gisselle Medina, Estefania Rodriguez, Anahi Ruiz, Lupita Solorio, Adilene Velazquez, Charlie Wayman, Brandon Weber, and Quinn Williams.

The students will be recognized during the California FFA State Degree ceremony April 27 in Chico.
