Supervisors make appointments

The Colusa County Board of Supervisors on Feb. 24 approved the reappointments of Marie Johnson to the Princeton Cemetery District and Walter L. Osbourn III to the Colusa County Behavioral Health Board. Johnson was reappointed to the cemetery district for a term beginning Feb. 27, through June 15, 2030. She previously was appointed in 2022. In her application, Johnson wrote that she is an active member of the community and serves on other boards. She noted her family’s ties to the area date back to the late 1800s and said it is important to give back to the community. Osbourn was reappointed to the Behavioral Health Board for a three-year term effective Feb. 4, through Feb. 3, 2029. He was last appointed Jan. 31. In his application, Osbourn stated he has served on the board for several years and would like to remain to serve the community better.

Our Lady of Lourdes to Host Annual Crab Feed

Our Lady of Lourdes will host its annual Crab Feed on Friday, March 13, at 5:30 p.m. at St. Bernadette Hall on Ware Avenue. The dinner will feature crab, cheese lasagna, meatless chili, salad and bread. The evening will also include a live auction, raffle and door prizes. Car Seat Checkups

Free car seat safety checks are being offered by appointment at three locations in Colusa County through a partnership supported by First 5 Colusa and the Family Action Centers of Colusa County. Certified technicians will inspect rear facing and forward-facing car seats, booster seats and seat belts to ensure they are properly installed. The checks are available at the Arbuckle Family Action Center, 812 King St., Arbuckle; First 5 Colusa, 217 Ninth St., Suite B, Colusa; and the Williams Family Action Center, 315 Ninth St., Suite A, Williams. Appointments are required. Fairgrounds to Host Community Yard Sale

The Colusa Fairgrounds will host a community-wide yard sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 28 at the fairgrounds. Organizers are offering 10-by-10 indoor and outdoor vendor spaces for $25. The event is open to Colusa residents, out-of-town sellers, businesses and informational booths. Fairgrounds staff will promote the sale through social media and flyers. Sellers must provide their own tables and chairs. Outdoor vendors should bring a canopy. Organizers are also inviting food trucks to participate in the second annual event. Egg My Yard Signups Open

The Stagehands will once again bring a bit of Easter magic to Colusa with their “Egg My Yard” fundraiser, offering candy filled eggs delivered directly to homes the night before Easter. The group is currently taking orders from Colusa residents who would like prefilled eggs placed in their yards for children to discover on Easter morning. Organizers note that spots are limited and the promotion is open to City of Colusa addresses only. Pricing is set at $20 for 24 eggs, $30 for 36 eggs and $40 for 48 eggs. Additional options are available on the order form. Order forms must be submitted by March 27.
