Pierce 5 – Williams 0 (2/10)

In its only action last week, the Bears ended a three-match skid with a shutout victory over county rival Williams to close out their season.

Sophia Oliveros led the way with a brace, while Sophia Mendoza, Olivia Dudley and Yarely Ruiz added one apiece to the total.

Pierce (5-9-1, 2-5-1) finished as the third place team in the Sacramento Valley League.

Colusa 9 – Maxwell 0 (2/11)
Colusa 1 – Willows 1 (2/12)

Lizbet Ayala came away with a four-goal haul and Itzel Cruz recorded a hat trick as Colusa, who also got one goal apiece from Janell Garcia and Natalee Stegall, blitzed Maxwell.

However, the RedHawks could not put away the Honkers the following day and had to settle for the draw.

Ayala accounted for the lone goal.

Colusa (11-6-2, 5-2-1) is the No. 3 seed in the Northern Section CIF Division III playoffs and had a rematch against No. 6 Willows on Feb. 19, with the winner advancing to a second round match against No. 2 Shasta Charter on Feb. 24.

Williams 0 – Winters 4 (2/12)

The Yellowjackets saw their season come to an end last week with two shutout losses to their Sacramento Valley League opponents.

Finishing fourth in conference play and with an overall record of 3-8-2, Williams did not earn a playoff berth.

Colusa 4 – Maxwell 2 (2/11)
Colusa 3 – Willows 1 (2/13)

Colusa closed out the regular season on a high note after defeating Maxwell on the road before returning home to down Willows.

Eric Gonzalez and Yandel Ornelas both scored a brace of goals in the win over the Panthers.

Against the Honkers, Gonzalez replicated his performance with his second brace of the week, while Ricardo Hernandez added a goal for good measure.

Seeded No. 6 in the NSCIF Division III playoffs, the RedHawks (6-11-2, 2-5-1) were in Williams on Thursday for a first round match against the No. 3 Yellowjackets.

Williams 1 – Winters 3 (2/12)

Last week wasn’t an ideal one for the reigning NSCIF Division III champions as they suffered two setbacks to end the regular season.

Jose Cervantes scored with an assist from Jonathan Garcia in the loss to Pierce, while Max Garcia scored the lone goal against Winters while Jonathan Garcia came through with another assist.

Williams (7-3-4, 3-2-3) begin their title defense as the No. 3 seed at home against No. 6 Colusa on Feb. 19.
