COLUSA, CA (MPG) – The Colusa Lions Club donated $3,210 to Egling Middle School to help fund the school’s annual sixth-grade trip to Shady Creek Outdoor School.

The donation came from ticket sales connected to the club’s annual Jim Davison Memorial Rubber Ducky Race, held each Fourth of July on the Sacramento River.

Egling Middle School sixth-grade students sold 642 duck race tickets, generating the funds designated for the outdoor education trip. The Colusa Lions Club has partnered with the school for several years to support student participation in the program.

“At the heart of the Colusa Lions Club is one constant: We Serve,” said Greg Ponciano, president of the Colusa Lions Club. Adding that the fundraiser reflects the club’s ongoing commitment to supporting local youth and education.

Founded in 1929, the Colusa Lions Club has served the community for nearly a century, providing financial support and volunteer service to local schools, nonprofits and civic causes.
