COLUSA, CA (MPG) — The Colusa City Council appointed Johnny Barnette to the Measure B Citizens Oversight Committee, filling the alternate seat added in August for the 2023 to 2027 term. The City Clerk advertised the vacancy from Sept. 11 to Oct. 14 and received one application.
Barnette moved to Colusa from Arbuckle three years ago. He is retired and said he wants to be involved in the city’s improvement. He holds a degree in business management from the University of Arkansas. His career includes 20 years as a plant manager at ADM, 15 years as plant manager and vice president at American Rice, and 10 years as plant superintendent at American Rice/Comet Rice.
The Measure B committee oversees use of the city’s voter-approved revenue and reports to the council.
