Recycled and Reloved

It took me a while before I could face seeing my childhood home again.  Finally, last week we took a drive to Grimes, CA. To my surprise and delight the new owner was there. He was on the roof working at the rehab of the home.

We visited and he explained the renovations and changes he was making to our beloved place.

My father built the house. How pleased he would be that it is now being rebuilt with the same love and care he put into the original build.

I shared that the owner would feel a good vibe in the house. He said that he already felt it.  He also shared that he had heard many comments about what good people Mother and Daddy had been.

I was pleased.

Later, I went to the cemetery to visit my parents and other family members. I told Daddy what I had seen. I suspect he is pleased as well.

Ours was a home filled with love, happiness and welcome. It was a place our friends knew they were welcomed and usually fed.

As the new owner rebuilds our home, I feel better knowing he felt the love there and that love will continue to fill the rooms.

Life is good today.
