Maxwell 54 – Weed 0
Coming off a disappointing loss to Rio Vista in its season opener, the Panthers took out their frustration on Weed, shutting out the Cougars on the road and rolling up 393 yards of total offense in the process.
Erik New got back on track finishing the night carrying 12 times for 143 yards and three touchdowns despite largely playing only in the first half.

Landon Barrett, Levi Velazquez and Vincent Orozco each made their way into the end zone for Maxwell.
Connor Pearson spearheaded the defense making 12 total tackles and recording a sack, Colt Montgomery tallied seven tackles and three sacks, while Tanner Vierra also finished the night with seven tackles.
Orozco and Evan Mathis each came away with an interception.

This week the Panthers (1-1) have their hands full when they entertain an unbeaten Redding Christian squad that has outscored its opponents 66-6 in its first two games of the season.
Pierce 2 – Clear Lake 0 (FF)
It was a no go for the Bears last week in what was supposed to be their home opener as the Clear Lake Cardinals, just three years removed from playing in a state championship bowl game, could not field a team.
The situation was an unfortunate one for Pierce coach Anthony Tapia who explained it this way, “We found out Wednesday night after practice and were very bummed out. Our guys having been working so hard. I hate taking football games away from high schoolers. You only get so many.”
Back in action tonight at Gregg LeMaster Field in Arbuckle, the Bears (2-0) face a tough test in a high-powered Lincoln team that is averaging 346.5 yards and 46.5 points in its two wins this season.
