Sharing Soup, Ending Hunger

COLUSA, CA (MPG) — The North Valley Community Food Bank will launch its inaugural “No Empty Bowls” fundraiser next month, with three Saturday dinners planned across Glenn, Tehama and Colusa counties.

The series opens from 4 to 6 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Ark Christian Center, 222 N. Butte St. in Willows. Additional seatings are set for 4 to 6 p.m. Sept. 27 at Calvary Chapel, 12375 Paskenta Road, Red Bluff, and 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 11 at the Sacramento Valley Museum, 1491 E St., Williams.

Tickets cost $25 and include soup made with ingredients commonly distributed by the food bank. Each serving comes in a handcrafted ceramic bowl created by Holbrook Stoneware of Red Bluff; guests may keep the bowls after the meal.

Proceeds will support the food bank’s work in fighting food insecurity. Organizers plan to make No Empty Bowls an annual event. Sponsorships begin at $500; details are available at zeffy.com.
