City of Colusa Police Department Reports Busy, Steady Month in June

Colusa, CA (MPG) — The City of Colusa Police Department reported 290 calls for service in June, with a slight decrease in call volume compared to May. Officers provided assistance to other agencies 15 times and made 19 in-custody arrests. An additional three citations were issued in lieu of arrest.

Three domestic violence incidents were reported and four reports were initiated. Officers conducted 278 traffic enforcement stops during the month, resulting in 83 citations. These included violations for cell phone use, speeding, and failure to stop at stop signs. No reportable traffic collisions occurred in June, and there were no DUI-related arrests.

The Police Services Manager responded to 80 calls for service, excluding phone call inquiries.

A notable success for the department was the 2025 Colusa County Fair Parade and Fair, which proceeded without significant incidents—marking the first time in several years the event was held without major issues in the city.

The standout case for June was credited to Officer Herrera, who identified a suspicious vehicle during a graveyard patrol shift. With assistance from Sgt. Hogan, Officer Herrera contacted Austin Mitchell and Erika Antrobus, who were allegedly linked to multiple thefts in Colusa and Williams. Stolen property recovered at the scene connecting them to crimes in Yuba City as well. The investigation led to search warrants and the collection of DNA samples. Both suspects remain in custody at the Colusa County Jail.

Additionally, two police trainees began their full-time training at the Butte College Police Academy on June 30. Graduation is expected on Dec. 5.

The department reminded boaters using the Colusa State Park launch to pay the $13 fee. Approximately 11 vehicles were cited in a single day for failing to comply.

Finally, residents, particularly the elderly, were warned of scams involving fraudulent claims by individuals posing as law enforcement. Police emphasized that legitimate agencies do not collect fines in the form of cash, gold, or bitcoin. Suspicious calls or emails should be reported immediately.
