What a great weekend I just had. My daughters and granddaughters included me on a fun filled adventure in South Dakota.
These girls are definitely a source of joy for me.
Daughter Velvet and granddaughters Lea and Latrice braved a zip line in Keystone, SD. I can’t say a joined them. I cheered them from below. I just don’t see the need to voluntarily go 1,500 feet in the air and harness up to come back down hanging from a wire. They thought it was great though. It’s good to see them happy.
I wish all families had a connection of love and respect.
I grew up in Grimes, Ca. Ours was a large welcoming family. My folks’ southern roots instilled in them a since of sharing and a welcoming nature to all. Everyone was welcomed to our home. My mom always said there was room for one more.
I’ve tried to follow their lead. With all of the adult kids who still call me Ma Craigo I feel I may have done it right. I hope so. A kid will remember you for how you treat them. Good or bad, they will remember you.
We never know how and when we might influence another’s life. The goal is to treat all people with kindness. I agreed; it’s not always easy.
Keep trying though. Life is good today.
