I’m working to be more grateful. As tough as this year has been for me, I still know I’m blessed.
Everyone has struggles. Some are greater than others.
We need only look around to see a greater hardship or need than we might be dealing with.
Some years back we were encouraged to keep gratitude journals. I did it for a time, but like most things it slowly faded away.
I’m thinking I should get back to it. Sometimes we need a nudge to remind us to be grateful. Writing your blessings down is a good start. If we are able see and review the list, it is a good way to renew our gratitude. It’s kind of hard to feel sorry for us if we see written reminders of all the goodness heaped on us.
I’m a fan of cooking competition shows. The other day I binge watched one such show. The winner was an amazing baker. When they said he was from Pocatello, Idaho, I began to wonder if I had a connection to him.
A couple of years ago my granddaughter Annika who lives in Pocatello was married. I recalled the delicious cake and cupcakes from her wedding. Yep, same baker.
I was glad to see him rewarded for his talent.
I’ve been in a few cooking competitions. Believe me when I say it is a nerve-racking adventure. I’ve won a few but came in second or third as well.
Cooking and baking are arts. I can do it. Something to be grateful for I suspect.
Life is good today – be grateful.
