âWeâre excited to feature the best of local produce,â said ARC President Elijah Rodriguez, noting the freshness and quality that local families have come to expect.
While there wonât be watermelon seed-spitting or eating contests this year, kids will have no shortage of activities.
âThe kids carnival will offer games such as Plinko, kidsâ fishing, a basketball shoot, and cornhole.â said Rodriguez. âWe have several activities for kids to enjoy.â.
The event is free to attend; however, tickets for the kids carnival are $2 each, or families can opt for an unlimited play wristband, which also includes concession items, for $25.
A variety of food vendors will be serving up delicious options throughout the day. Attendees can enjoy savory plates from Compaâs Catering and Lucita’s Dâlicias. For those with a sweet tooth, a snack truck will feature mangonadas and snow cones, while a dedicated lemonade and drink truck and a jerky vendor will round out the festivalâs food offerings.
Rodriguez encourages families and first-time attendees to make the most of their visit: âIf anyone missed the fair, or was unable to get out of town, this is the perfect opportunity to come downtown and enjoy some summer activities.â
Adding to the excitement, Mini Miss and Miss Colusa County will be in attendance. Attendees can also enjoy live entertainment with youth singers Valentia, who will perform the National Anthem, and Marco, who will entertain the crowd with songs on his guitar.
As the Arbuckle Revitalization Committee brings the community together once again, the Watermelon Festival promises a day filled with food, fun, and local pride.
